There is no time - there is merely a rearrangement of energy. Time is just a construct of the human mind created to measure that activity.

what strange creatures we are, tapping away at tools that record our thoughts while some of us tend to the less wholesome aspects of our humanity, straining and embarrassing ourselves upon a bowl of porcelain, tucked away in a corner room far from the space for concentration, and yet still not private enough as your sounds mingle with the sounds of others, and you practically stroke each others' feet.

It's been an interesting few days. And you know what? I wouldn't settle for less. My life is going to be the most exciting life I can ever make it.

Thursday night memories that will never die.

Friday night energy back and forth with a good friend I don't see often enough.

Saturday Flamenco performance that some friends got to see, though not all the ones I truly wanted to be there. At least I did it, I felt accomplished, and it was fun.

Saturday night radio show with the ex-boy, cuddley sleeps afterwards, so beautiful... friendshiplove. I hope it remains.

Sunday further recovery sleep, walk through pride, about to actually attend pride with another good friend I don't see often enough. Fuck soccer, pride only happens once a year and the energy in this place is fucking incredible.

Also, I got a promotion at work. A raise and my "mentor" is now leaving and dumping ALL of her projects on me. *phew* Gonna be interesting. But let's not think about that until tomorrow.

You know what I would love? I know it sounds cheesey, but:

if someone were to give me a simple poster, or even just a sheet of paper, that said "you are perfect just the way you are".

I think I'll make one for myself.

(this is one of those rare moments of pure hopefulness and optimism... very rare)

I just realised I haven't been in Canada for the end of April in three - no wait, maybe four? I don't remember - years.

Wow. This is going to feel weird. And damn... I miss England.

Great. It snowed last night. Now everyone's gonna be bitchin' and moanin' about how it's April and there shouldn't be snow now.

You live in Canada. This happens every year. Get the fuck used to it.

Haha, people annoy me. Nothing like pre-empting that with pre-bitching. Oh it would be such a wonderful day if I got through it and heard nobody saying anything of the sort... we'll see.

Is it just me, or is the idea of myspacewatch kinda creepy?

I don't care to try out myspace already. But the presence of that kind of tool ensures I never will...

Look at this program, it's insane:
http://detouch.org/

What does it do? It shows you just how much a photo was re-touched. If you launch it, you can choose sources from select websites of images to look at.

It's incredible - I always knew Photoshop had a lot to do with the impossible standards being created for women in all the images that inundate us day to day, but I didn't know exactly what or how much. This program shows you.

It's chilling... because it means the perfection we see everywhere, actually is completely unrealistic and unattainable in a physical sense. We can only be "perfect" in pixel form. And yet regardless, we are urged, ever more vehemently, to pursue it.

...

Just some of my issues I thought this program did a good job in proving.

I just finished playing The Sims: Bustin' Out and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and I have to say, they were rather disappointing.

I found them far too linear and repetitive. I understand the need for such things because the system is so small. But the story lines were so weak, that these things just stood out way too much for me to get over them easily.

I don't know what to do next. I feel like any game I get is going to be super linear, and way too repetitive. I don't mind that so much for arcade games like Tetris Worlds, because that's what they're supposed to be like. But for simulations and RPGs, which on the PC are much deeper, I wonder if all GBA games are going to feel like they fall short, for me.

Has anyone else run into this kind of disappointment with the GBA system? Did you find better games - were my first choices poor ones?

(it's a joke, I don't care *that* much)

Mmm, marshmallow soup.

Addendum to previous post: I sent my Alienware laptop in. Fedex charged me only $90 (I had predicted a lot more). That's exactly what someone paid me for my old graphic calculator, so I wasn't out of pocket at all. I love how the universe can just balance out properly sometimes.

I have to wait until Wed. before they will give me another update on when it might get back to me.

I'm making Rice Krispie squares!

I voted Green.

I've been really enjoying Prison Break. Desperate Housewives too, but I'm all caught up on those episodes.

My walking stick arrived today! I already used it as my accompaniment to the polling station this evening. I felt so cool.

That's... about it.

Thought I'd update everyone on the status of my Alienware laptop, though I'm sure most of you don't care.

After weeks of putting off the inevitable (lack of ability to face it), having the boy call tech support only to circumvent them pretty much every time to speak to customer service and get nowhere, I finally spent 3 1/2 hours on Tues. night with tech support. The diagnosis? It's undiagnosable. Or, both hard drives and the power board are all fried.

In any case, they finally agreed to let me ship it in. I'm probably going to pay an outrageous shipping price because for this becaue I live in Canada, however it can't cost more than replacing those three things would, and it's still under warranty so it's probably best to let Alienware handle it.

Well, maybe. Considering they sent me a faulty product to begin with... or the guy who brought it over the border really screwed it up. I dunno. I just want it back. It was fast and mostly reliable, when it was working.
